The British Feature Screenplay Competition (BSSC) is now accepting submissions for their second annual competition and it promises to be the biggest and best yet. The winning Feature screenplay as judged by an unprecedented panel of judges will go into production. The BSSC is often asked what is the budget of the production. It's a difficult question to answer but what we can tell you is that the average budget of the last three winnnig screenplays we've produced inclusive of all the sponsorship package is $340,000. That is the biggest prize package offered by any screenplay competition in the world. And this year we're going to offer Two! AND all the finalists will be invited for an interview with the panel of the National Film and Television School - UK's top film school. Plus, ten runners-up will receive Movie Magic screenwriting software. The BSSC is the only competitive and international short screenplay competition that is able to boast an unrivalled line-up of judges and support from the industry. The competition is open to all, young, old, produced, unproduced, veterans and novices. The BSSC is sponsored by: Kodak, Lee Lighting, Panavision, Pinewood Studios, Screenplay Systems and Working Title Films.

3/1/2010    People's Pilot Competition
With more networks and cable channels on television than ever before, and New Media garnering larger audiences everyday, the market for bright, fresh, and original ideas is at an all-time high. The old pros who have been the traditional creators of TV series are hard on the job, but even they can't fill the demand. Executives and producers are ready and waiting for new people they can count on to supply them with material unlike that ever before seen. This is the dawning of the era of YOU, THE NEW WRITER, with your unique vision. To help you sell your series, TV Writer.Com, the most successful television writing site on the Web, has created the PEOPLE'S PILOT COMPETITION. The rewards can be enormous. Your dream for all to see. With you as the producer/head writer...and collecting the salary that accompanies that job. And all you have to do is commit your dreamchild to paper. Only a few short pages containing the title of your series idea, the main thrust of the storyline or storylines, the characters, and the setting. That's right. This isn't a screenplay or teleplay contest. Television networks and cable channels don't buy series pilot scripts, they develop them with their creators and production companies and packaging agencies they trust.
