Rules: To help the environment, Shore Scripts only accepts electronic entries.

Writers from all countries are welcome to enter the Shore Scripts Screenwriting Competition. All scripts must be in English.

The script must be the writers original work. They must own all copyright. At no point will Shore Scripts ever have any rights over your work.

All ages are welcome.

Each writer, or writing team, may not have earned more than £20,000 in writing fees. Previous screenwriting cash awards do not count towards this total.

You may enter a more recent draft of an already submitted script. However, there will be an additional fee involved.

If a script is optioned or purchased during the competition, then that script will no longer be eligible for the awards. The entry fee will not be refunded.

Scripts should be formatted at size 12 Courier.

The script file formats we accept for upload are: PDF (preferred) Final Draft, CELTX, MovieMagic, RTF, DOC, and TXT.

Please ensure your script is as close to the standard 80-120 pages as possible. See below in regards to the Short Competition. If you have any questions about the length of your script, please email us. contact@shorescripts.com

We accept all genres.

The winners agree to allow Shore Scripts to use their name and script title on the website. This will be used to inform other contestants and the media of the results.

The decision of the judging panel is final. All judges and sponsors are immune from any competition disputes.

If we see fit, we can extend the final deadline of the competition.

Entrants understand that the concept and characters in your script may contain similar elements to projects being developed by any individual or company working with Shore Scripts; and that you will not attempt to claim against Shore Scripts, or their associates and judges, at any time.
