Description: The British Feature Screenplay Competition (BSSC) is now accepting submissions for their second annual competition and it promises to be the biggest and best yet. The winning Feature screenplay as judged by an unprecedented panel of judges will go into production.

The BSSC is often asked what is the budget of the production. It's a difficult question to answer but what we can tell you is that the average budget of the last three winnnig screenplays we've produced inclusive of all the sponsorship package is $340,000. That is the biggest prize package offered by any screenplay competition in the world. And this year we're going to offer Two! AND all the finalists will be invited for an interview with the panel of the National Film and Television School - UK's top film school. Plus, ten runners-up will receive Movie Magic screenwriting software.

The BSSC is the only competitive and international short screenplay competition that is able to boast an unrivalled line-up of judges and support from the industry.

The competition is open to all, young, old, produced, unproduced, veterans and novices.

The BSSC is sponsored by: Kodak, Lee Lighting, Panavision, Pinewood Studios, Screenplay Systems and Working Title Films.
Objective: From its inception we wanted the Competition to become the premier show-case for international screenwriting talent.

Prizes and Awards: Three winning screenwriter of The British Feature Screenplay Competition will have their screenplay produced!

More: The panel of judges for 2007 competition includes: four times Oscar nominated Actor/director Kenneth Branagh; Oscar nominated director of "Mississippi Burning" Sir Alan Parker; producers: Michael Kuhn, Nik Powell and Stephen Woolley. The BSSC is supported by Working Title Films, the most successful British film production company.
